Explanation/Summary:
Students will construct a foldable that contains three houses: Millions, Thousands, and Ones. Each house has three rooms: hundreds, tens, and ones. This foldable also has a blank space for numbers to be written and to be constructed. When students write the number in, they can see how the number builds to include millions, thousands, and tens. Then, students will be asked to write the number they wrote on the foldable in number form (456), expanded form (400 + 50 +6), and word form (four hundred fifty-six). To help distinguish the three houses, students may color each house a different color.
