Grade Level(s): Kindergarten

Content Area:                                                                        Process Area:
Numbers and Operations                                           Problem-Solving
Algebra                                                           Reasoning and Proof
Geometry                                                                    Communication
Measurement                                                             Representation

Common Core Standards:
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.MD.B.3: Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count.
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.CC.A.1: Count to 100 by ones and by tens.

Targeted Needs of Student:
Making patterns, graphing use of different shapes, recognizing shapes, understanding the meaning of graphs, introducing probability

Goal:
To incorporate making patterns into graphing using bar graphs.

Materials Needed:

  1. Graph sheet
  2. Pattern blocks (set for each student)
  3. Coloring utensils
