Targeted Needs of Student:
Using hundreds boards to represent counting by 10s, understanding the reasoning behind skip counting, visually seeing 10 represented

Goal:
Visually representing skip counting by 10’s.

Materials Needed:

  1. Hundreds Boards
  2. Cut outs of columns of tens

Explanation/Summary:
To show skip counting, students will have a hundreds board and will place the strips of paper on the board as they count by tens. Each strip has been printed to look like a column so as students place the strips on the board, they will still have the numbers on it. Teachers can do this as a class strategy or with small groups.
