Common Core Standards:

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.C.7: Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.

Targeted Needs of Student:

Memorizing multiplication facts, self-checking knowledge of multiplication facts, recalling multiplication, sharping memorization skills

Goal:

Providing students with practice memorizing multiplication facts

Materials Needed:

1. Wrap Up Keys  (Set of 1 – 12) for each student

Explanation/Summary:

Students will use these keys to practice their memorization of multiplication facts. They connect the string from the number to the left to the number on the right that corresponds to the multiplication problem. For instance, they might connect the 2 on the left side of the 7 set to 14 because 2 x 7 = 14. Then they will look on the back of the key to see if they are correct because the string will line up with the other lines to show they got it correct.
