Targeted Needs of Student:
Practicing
measurement, finding objects around the room that are a certain length,
following directions
Goal:
To provide
students with practice measuring many objects and finding objects that are the
same length
Materials Needed:
1. Packet for each student
2. Ruler for each student
3. Writing utensils
4. Scratch paper
5. Clipboards for each student
Explanation/Summary:
Students will
start by measuring the parts of a pirate and then they will measure planks and
order them from greatest to least. Then, they will so a search around the room
to find things such as “12 inch things,” or “4 inch things,” and more. Last,
they will “find the treasure by following the pirates direction to the treasure
such as “two inches to the left” and “”5 inches north,” etc. This packet needs
to be completed over a week.
