Common Core Standards:
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.MD.B.4: Generate measurement data by measuring lengths using rulers marked with halves and fourths of an inch. Show the data by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in appropriate units— whole numbers, halves, or quarters.

Targeted Needs of Student:
Measuring to the nearest quarter inch, using rulers, graphing data, analyzing data

Goal:
To provide students with practice graphing and interpreting data

Explanation/Summary:
Students will first measure the keys to the nearest inch, quarter inch, or fourth inch. Then they will record the data on the line plot provided at the top of the page. Then the teacher can facilitate discussion around the data.
