Adding two digit numbers, understanding place value, practicing regrouping, referencing a mnemonic to remember the steps of adding two digit numbers

Goal:

Providing students with a reference to use when adding two digit numbers

Materials Needed:

2. Example to show poster’s use

Explanation/Summary:

This poster can be used to help students to remember how to add two digit numbers. The mnemonic should read A for Add ones column, C for Check if the numbers add up to more than ten or under ten, and A for add tens column. The ACA stands for Alligators Can Add.
